Members of Parliament from the West Nile sub-region have asked the government to urgently engage in dialogue with the government of South Sudan over the increasing insecurity on roads that connect Uganda to Juba, South Sudan’s capital. The development comes at a time when South Sudan is facing an uncertain future after the opposition warned it could dethrone the government following President Salva Kiir’s suspension of the country’s first vice president, Riek Machar, from office.
