Nearly two months after Ugandan and Congolese officials reopened the Bunagana border post on July 10, cross-border trade remains largely stalled. The border, closed for four years until 2024, was reopened in a ceremony led by Kisoro RDC Hajji Badru Sebyara and Bunagana Mayor Désiré Kanyamarere of the DRC. However, only limited local trade is taking place, while international commerce between the two countries has yet to resume.
