New gold refinery commissioned

A new Gold refinery with capacity to process 5,000 tons of gold ore every day, with a 1.5 million ton processing volume and 1.2 tons of 99.99% pure gold produced annually, has been commissioned in Busia District. The Wagagai Gold mine covers 9.224 square kilometres with proven ore reserves of approximately 30 million tons and an average gold grade of 0.8-1 gram per ton, supporting 20 years of sustainable development.
