Buyala residents sue KCCA, NEMA over toxic landfill

Residents of Buyala, Mpigi District, have sued KCCA and NEMA for violating their right to a clean environment. They claim a landfill was set up without safeguards, exposing them to toxic gases and health risks. Over 100 garbage trucks dump waste daily, contaminating water and air. Lawyer Balimukuubo says his home is now uninhabitable, and his children have respiratory issues. The case will be heard on October 1 by Justice Joyce Kavuma.
