Human rights activists want amendment of some laws

Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Nobert Mao is advocating for more amendments to the laws surrounding abortion and reproductive health to ensure justice for those affected. According to the minister, existing guidelines have significant gaps that do not clearly point out the circumstances under which and how this process is carried out, and serve justice to those affected. The minister joined legal and human rights scholars in highlighting these loopholes and seeking a way forward on the matter. Tomorrow, Uganda will join the rest of the world in celebrating International Safe Abortion Day, as recognized by the United Nations.
