How Kampala residents are embracing urban farming

As part of achieving the United Nations’ goal of combating plastic pollution, the Network for Active Citizens, an NGO, has embarked on training youth and women in urban farming to improve the urban climate. This is done through planting vegetables in waste plastics such as bottles, tins, sacks, polyethylene bags, and other materials. The initiative makes use of readily available items like water bottles, which are reused or substituted with other materials.
