Why observers want presidential candidates to have financial muscle

Monitors of campaign financing have underscored the need to make presidential election laws more stringent to attract only capable leaders. This comes a day after some candidates resorted to fundraising to support their campaigns across the country. Some stakeholders now argue that amending the Presidential Elections Act would make it more difficult for what they call “jokers and comedians” to join the race and waste time and resources.
