In Kabarole District, a centuries-old method of communication still echoes through the hills. Despite the rise of loudspeakers and mobile phones, one community continues to honour the sound of the horn.
At the heart of this tradition is Faustine Tumwebaze, a 55-year-old resident of Nyabinyonyi Zone Village in Isunga Parish. For more than three decades, his voice—amplified by the wind and tradition—has united a village.
He is the unofficial messenger of his community: trusted, respected, and always relied upon.
Betty Mudondo brings us his story.
