Third-party insurance gets major upgrade for Ugandan motorists

A report by the Insurance Regulatory Authority on the status of motor vehicle insurance in Uganda shows that 86 percent of car owners opt for third-party rather than comprehensive cover — highlighting a significant gap between the two. To bridge this gap, Liberty General Insurance, in partnership with Stanbic Bank and SafeCar by SafeBoda, has unveiled a new product designed to close the divide. The cover provides compensation for accidental damage to the external body of a vehicle caused by sudden and unforeseen incidents.
