Traders’ strike suspended as gov’t promises to resolve grievances

Seventeen traders arrested during yesterday’s anti‑tax protest were arraigned today at Buganda Road Court on charges of common nuisance. Sixteen secured release on non‑cash bail. While one, Christopher Oketcho, was remanded due to a missing Japhadola interpreter. The group, having walked out of a prior meeting with Prime Minister Nabbanja, returned post‑release for further discussions with the prime minister.
