A mini factory that was operating on the rooftop of Naiga Plaza in Kikuubo in the city center has been shut down. The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), along with the Uganda Police, conducted a crackdown on the illegal operation earlier today, seizing numerous buckets of counterfeit paint. The factory was reportedly adulterating at least six major paint brands, such as Plascon, Sadolin, and Duracoat among others, by using forged seals and fake stickers. The counterfeit products were then repackaged into branded buckets and distributed to unsuspecting retailers across Kampala.
