UN World Food Programme (WFP) fosters self reliance among refugees
Challenges in neighboring countries, including political instability, have accelerated the refugee influx into Uganda. Both refugees and host communities endure poor conditions, especially food crises, which the WFP has taken responsibility for addressing. Recently, the WFP launched a new enrollment plan, the "Self-Reliance Model," to mitigate these crises in both communities. Abdirahman Meygag, Country Representative of the UN WFP, joins us to explain this model.
