Study: Poor infrastructure deterring tax compliance in Uganda
A new study conducted by the Government of Ireland in partnership with SEATINI Uganda reveals that taxpayers are increasingly reluctant to pay local taxes, largely due to the perceived lack of improvement in public services. The research, which examined 10 local governments, municipalities, and town councils, found that the absence of proper roads, functional markets, and other basic infrastructure significantly discourages tax compliance.
