Uganda loses Shs30B annually to illicit cigarette trade
According to the British American Tobacco from their commissioned research, nearly 30% of the cigarettes sold in Uganda are illicit or smuggled. With more than 30 billion being lost to the illicit cigarette trade, URA has acquired a cigarette destroying machine that will reduce the cost of the administrative part of the fight against the illicit cigarette trade by the taxman.
