Uganda stays 4th in 2024 Absa financial markets index
Uganda has maintained its fourth-place ranking in the 2024 Absa Africa Financial Markets Index, despite a slight improvement in its overall score from 62 to 63. The index, published by Absa, evaluates financial market development across 23 African countries and highlights those with the most supportive environments for effective markets. However, the report revealed Uganda’s underperformance in pension fund development, prompting calls for urgent reforms.
