Rising cocoa prices cause locals to fight insecurity
Local leaders in Bundibugyo have resorted to drastic means to save their now valuable crop of Cocoa from thieves. This follows reports that show that by Tuesday, the price of a kilogram of dry cocoa beans had risen to 31,000 shillings while that of freshly harvested was at 25,000 shillings. And this price was expected to rise further.
