Anti EACOP protesters nabbed as they start new demo
The Police have arrested 47 students from Kyambogo University, who attempted to march to parliament to protest of the construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline. The students, under their organization 'Students against EACOP', were planning to hand over a petition to the Speaker of Parliament, calling for this project to be scrapped. However, police arrested two of them outside of parliament,while the rest were nabbed as they attempted to use public transport to access the Chinese Embassy to protest its involvement in these plans.
