Augustine Ruzindana reflects on Independence and his political journey
Augustine Ruzindana has been a part of the politics that has shaped this country since his university days in the late 1960s when he was part of groups of students who held political discussions on the direction of the country. In 1972 and 1973, he trained with the Front for National Salvation (FRONASA) at training bases in Mozambique. After the Liberation War, he was appointed Inspector General of Government (IGG) in 1986, a position he held for ten years before becoming the Member of Parliament for Ruhaama County. At one point, he was the Deputy Secretary General of the FDC Party.
