Cabinet agrees to refuse bail for capital offender
A section of lawyers is calling for wider consultation among the public on a government resolution to table a constitutional amendment bill, calling for the removal of the right to apply for bail for capital offenders. This follows a cabinet resolution to call for the lifting of the right to bail. The lawyers are also calling for the strengthening of investigations by the security agencies rather than the removal of the right to bail.
