Cardinal Turkson urges global faithful to protect Earth as sacred gift
His Eminence Cardinal Peter Turkson, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, has called on the people of God around the world to reclaim their biblical duty as caretakers of creation. Speaking as the keynote speaker at the Laudato Si Africa Conference in Nandere, Luwero, the Ghanaian-born Cardinal, a contender in the 2025 papal conclave, urged humanity to treat the Earth as a sacred gift, not a resource to exploit.
