City officials concerned about declining performance of KCCA schools
City officials are concerned about the worrying decline in the performance of KCCA-managed primary schools; following their poor performance in the most recently released Primary Leaving Examinations.
The matter is attributed to under-funding, under-staffing and poor infrastructures among others. This prompted a special council sitting to deliberate on the declining performance. With 16 out of 79 KCCA-run primary schools failing to attain first grades, the council has resolved to present a report to the Ministry of Education and Parliament, within one month.
This is expected to outline critical funding and infrastructural challenges believed to be at the root of the academic slump.
