East African Community developing diaspora policy for investment facilitation
The East African Community is in the process of developing a Diaspora Policy to facilitate its people investing in their countries. The World Bank estimates that East Africans residing in the United States alone remit about 15 billion dollars to the region. The East African Community Secretary-General, Dr. Peter Mathuki, launched the Diaspora outreach forum in the US.
