The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) has expressed satisfaction with construction works on the Uganda leg of the 5 billion US dollar East African Crude Oil Pipeline. Authority officials estimate that the works have reached 62 percent completion, with the entire project expected to be completed by June next year. Dr. Joseph Kobusheshe, the Director for Environment, Health, and Safety at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, says the project should be ready to deliver the first oil in 2026. He also noted significant progress at the Tilenga and Kingfisher development areas, which are crucial to the production of the highly anticipated first oil.
