Uganda finalizes National Refugee Policy amid growing need for support
The government is in the final stages of developing a national refugee policy to further embed refugee protection within Uganda's national interests. Lilian Aber, the Minister of State for Disaster Preparedness, Relief, and Refugees, says Uganda remains committed to allowing more refugees to enter and settle in the country, even amid a drastic reduction in humanitarian assistance. Daniel Kibet reports that authorities are in desperate need of more support for refugees, as the situation is gradually worsening and the well-being of refugees in Uganda is at stake.
