Government warned over failure to provide funding
Civil society organizations have warned that the government's failure to provide government-funded pre-primary education is likely to increase the rates of class repetition and school dropouts. In a report on pre-primary education, the executive director of the Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER), Angella Kasule said that children who did not attend pre-primary school are twice as likely to repeat the first year of primary school compared to those who attended.
