Kiryandongo district official caught for soliciting a bribe
Police in Kiryandongo are holding one Severino Kaheru, until yesterday, an active member of the district service commission on allegations of extorting 2 million shillings from a would-be employee for a job. According to authorities in Kiryandongo, the area district local government advertised a vacancy for an enrolled nurse and the would-be employee Rebecca applied for the job, before she was asked for a bribe, before she could get the job. She reported the matter to the police after she was denied the job, even after paying part of the bribe to Kaheru. The suspect has since been arrested with the assistant area RDC Samuel Mbabazi calling for more victims to come forward, so their money is recovered.
