Local and cultural leaders ask government to rethink its land tax plan
Cultural leaders in northern Uganda and West Nile have asked the central government to revisit its plan to tax idle land. During a consultative meeting for the Revised National Land Policy in the greater north Uganda region, most of the leaders said land is not only a factor of production but it's the identity of people in the region.
