NRM blames individuals for party-linked violence
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party says the violence exhibited in some parts of the country within its structures should be blamed on individuals, not the party. This comes as analysts attribute the incidents to greed and the commercialisation of politics, calling for more stringent measures to address the problem. The party’s secretariat, however, reveals that it intends to strengthen security deployment at the remaining levels of polls to curb the violence.
