Parliament rejects Opposition whip's committee nominees
Parliament has rejected a move by the Opposition Chief Whip, John Baptist Nambeshe, to designate Joseph Gonzaga Ssewungu and Ethel Naluyima as the chairperson and deputy of the Government Assurances and Implementation Committee, replacing Kimaanya Kabonera MP Abed Bwanika and Mityana Woman MP Joyce Bagala. Meanwhile, the government has designated members of the Sectoral or Sessional Committee. However, some committees were left without leaders. This occurred during today’s plenary sitting.
