President Museveni advises on appropriate technology use at judges' conference
President Museveni has just arrived at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort to officiate over the conference of the Southern and Eastern Africa Chief Justices. During the meeting, the judiciary is hosting Chief Justices from 16 states in Southern and Eastern Africa to share experiences for improved service delivery. Alfonso Owiny-Dollo, the Chief Justice of Uganda, says they will share good practices while also formulating strategies to deal with the challenges that are similar across the continent. Owiny-Dollo singled out technological limitations, the huge case backlog, interference with judicial independence, and the high cost of litigation.
