Red Cross launches sanitary towels plant
Uganda Red Cross has commissioned a sanitary towels manufacturing plant at Namakwa village Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono District. The plant with a production capacity of 200,000 pads a year is to produce pads that would benefit the less privileged girls and keep them in school. 20% of the products will go to the vulnerable girls while 80% will be sold to the wider community at a subsidised price.
