Rwenzori cluster to host Martyrs' Day celebrations
The Church of Uganda’s Rwenzori cluster will host this year’s Martyrs Day celebrations on June 3rd. The cluster is made up of six dioceses: Rwenzori, Bunyoro-Kitara, South Rwenzori, Masindi-Kitara, East Rwenzori, and West Rwenzori. Christianity in these areas dates back to the late 19th century and is now the major religion here. In the final part of the Namugongo Anglican Martyrs series, we trace the origins and spread of Anglicanism in the Tooro and Bunyoro sub-regions and how it has shaped the church.
