UN looks to downsize MONUSCO in the DR Congo
The United Nations is considering downsizing its peacekeeping force, Monusco's operations, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This revelation came after the EAC Secretary-General, Dr. Peter Mathuki, addressed the UN Security Council in New York City. The meeting was intended to consider a proposal to reduce Monusco operations in the eastern part of Congo. Mathuki is leading an EAC delegation to the 78th United Nations General Assembly taking place in New York, from where Jjingo Francis reports.
