World Bank funds suspension: Effects will be felt across all major sectors
Economists have asked the government to keep engaging the World Bank and other donors by proving to them that enforcing the Anti Homosexuality law does not mean that gay people will be denied services in the sectors the institution funds. Dr Fred Muhumuza told NTV that the halt of World Bank lending to Uganda will affect services in the education, health and infrastructure sectors which have been heavily funded. Other experts feel that the government should now reduce its expenditure for it to be able to shoulder the financing burden. Sudhir Byaruhanga reports.
