In 2013 and 2016, the government, along with other partners, launched a program on Early Childhood Development. The government was supposed to spend over 1.2 trillion in five years to establish these centers in every village. However, to date, the policy has never been implemented. To address some of the gaps, in April 2022, BRAC began implementing the Early Childhood and Graduation program in refugee-hosting areas of Terego and Madi Okollo Districts. The model is intended to address the interconnected needs of children and caregivers in refugee and host communities, operating in Rhino and Imvepi refugee settlements, as well as the host communities of Terego and Madi Okollo Districts.
