Constitution@30: Political pundits explain why pluralism is failing to take root

This year marks 20 years since Uganda returned to multiparty politics, following the 2005 referendum.

However, political pundits across the board argue that the country was never adequately prepared for the return to party-based politics. They observe that the existential threats facing political parties today were set in motion when the ruling regime reluctantly agreed to transition from the Movement system.
