Landslide survivors in Tuikat Sub-county, Kween District, where six people died in a landslide on Wednesday night, are demanding the creation of an emergency camp for temporary settlement. The survivors abandoned nearly 300 houses across four villages, which are at risk of being destroyed by further landslides. They blame the disaster on residents’ failure to plant trees, leaving farmlands weak and exposed to runoff water.
