Child marriages persist in Kamuli despite new protection by-law

Kamuli District continues to grapple with high rates of teenage pregnancy and defilement, often leading to child marriages. In response, the district local government passed the Child Protection Bill (2024) by-law last year to safeguard children from early marriage and child labour. However, some children are still slipping through the cracks and falling into a cycle of child marriage. We have a report.
