Five presidential aspirants have received nomination clearance certificates from the Electoral Commission, confirming they successfully submitted supporter signatures from at least two-thirds of the country. As of last week, only two aspirants had been cleared, but that number has now risen to five — out of more than 30 who returned supporter forms. Those cleared include candidates from the NRM, NUP, National Peasants Party, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), and the Conservative Party.
