Former LRA abductees in Gulu cry out for government support

Dozens of people who were abducted by rebels of the Lord’s Resistance Army in northern Uganda have asked for government support because they are in despair amidst mounting social and economic challenges. The survivors include former abductees and ex-combatants, numbering over 3,000 in Gulu District alone. They say they are living in abject poverty and are unable to fend for themselves, noting that some of them have resorted to street life.
