The nomination of National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi to contest as a presidential candidate in the 2026 general elections hangs in the balance.
This follows a notification from the Electoral Commission, informing the party that the signatures submitted in support of his presidential bid are insufficient.
Party officials have expressed disappointment over the Commission’s delay in verifying the signatures, despite several follow-ups to address any queries.
They have, however, vowed to resolve the issue in time for the nomination.
