Kampala traders reopen shops after strike, but concerns linger

Traders in Kampala have reopened their shops following a two-day strike over high taxes and what they describe as unfair trade practices. However, many say business remains slow as they await the government’s response to their demands.

The strike had brought major sections of the city’s commercial activity to a standstill, with traders calling for policy reforms to ease the cost of doing business.
