The National Unity Platform (NUP) party’s Electoral Management Committee has postponed the vetting of aspiring candidates for parliamentary seats to September 15, 2025, following a recent revision of the electoral schedule by the Simon Byabakama-led Electoral Commission.

Committee Chairperson Harriet Chemtai has also allayed fears of infiltration by candidates from other parties, noting that the vetting process, which began on July 28, continues to attract hundreds of aspiring candidates.
