Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has informed Members of Parliament that investigations are currently underway regarding Nation Media Group. He stated that Parliament’s decision to restrict NMG journalists is in accordance with the directives from the investigators. Once the investigations are concluded, Parliament will notify the authorities at NMG. Meanwhile, a group of politicians has urged the parliamentary administration to pursue legal action if NMG has violated any laws, rather than shutting out reporters from Parliament. They argued that such actions are contrary to the constitution, which Parliament is sworn to uphold.
