World Bank highlights urgent need for climate-smart urban planning

The World Bank has underscored the importance of climate-smart urban planning for sustainable development. The experts warn that without urgent action, climate change could drive income losses for up to 80% of the poorest households, reduce labor productivity, damage infrastructure, and cause significant GDP losses by 2050. The revelation was made as it launched its Climate and Development Report for Eastern and Southern Africa in Kampala.
