Schools in Yumbe Refugee Settlement are currently facing a challenge with low staffing. This is due to some teachers not having their contracts renewed because of the closure of certain donor partners who used to provide their salaries and allowances. In addition to the inadequate teacher-to-pupil ratio, school management is also concerned about the lack of sufficient infrastructure and food to support the students. This is especially troubling considering the mental health issues, such as trauma, that the learners may be experiencing.
