Call for affordable health insurance in Uganda
A cross-section of Private healthcare providers are calling on the government and insurers to channel deliberate financing into the development of innovative and reasonably priced health insurance solutions, tailored to reach the underserved in Uganda. A topic of high medical costs faced by the poor was hotly debated this morning at the Kampala conference center, at a dialogue hosted by Jubilee Health Insurance. A recent World Bank's 23rd Uganda Economic Update Report revealed that one million Ugandans slip into poverty annually due to out-of-pocket health expenses.
