Developing countries ask for climate change financing
Developing countries under the Group of 77 plus China are urging the developed world to increase climate change financing to trillions of dollars. The group also intends to push for the provision of grants instead of loans to save developing countries from the debt trap. Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Adonia Ayebare says the strategic group meeting in Kampala will develop an effective way of advocacy; informed by the failure of developed countries to provide the finances in the past.
