SALT TRADE ROW: Ugandan company seeks government zero-rate
With Kenya, the largest supplier of salt raw materials to Uganda running short on supplies, the arguably only table salt manufacturer in Uganda, Kampala Salt works, is asking government to zero rate the rasa material so that it can successfully seek out other sources like India and reduce Uganda’s dependence on Kenyan salt imports.
