DEFENCE MINISTER: CDF will appear before parliament
The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs has pledged to persuade General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), to appear before Parliament’s Defence and Internal Affairs Committee at an appropriate time.
This comes after the CDF failed to honour earlier summons to address his controversial posts on X (formerly Twitter). A heated debate erupted among committee members on whether to proceed with engaging the Ministry of Defence officials in the absence of the CDF, who had been summoned last week. The officials were before the committee to discuss their budget allocation for the 2025/2026 financial year, which stands at 4.3 trillion shillings.
